Husman Looks Back At Career on Ice
Her last season of hockey may be over forever, but she will have the memories that’ll last her a lifetime.
Anna Husman’s senior year season of hockey is officially over. The WSHS Winhawk girls finished at 5-16.
The losing record wasn’t the disappointment, but the number of games they dropped bya a single goal hurt. Despite these setbacks, Anna felt they were a pretty good team.
There were two Cotter skaters on the team, Anna and junior Maura Michener.
“Anna was the reason i decided to join hockey this year, she was like my big sister of the team and whenever I had question she was always there to give me an answer,” said Michener
Anna played left defense and finished the season with three assists and an honorable mention all- tournament award for their Christmas tournament in Austin.
She also left with great memories from the past
When asked about her favorite hockey memories, Husman had this to say: “Winning our first round playoff game last year and this year, also when I was little, my U12 team won districts and my hockey coach dyed his hair. But in general being with my friends and having a good time.”
Anna has made many memories, but she is glad there is more to come next year when she attends UW Madison, where the Badgers’ women’s hockey team annually battles the U of M Gophers and UMD Bulldogs for national championships and the school has intramural ice hockey, pond hockey and broomball, so she will have no trouble staying connected to the sport she loves.
