Retreat to La Canne: a senior tradition

For many years the graduating senior class has participated in a retreat held at La Canne park that is a mixture fun, games, reflection and sharing.

The retreat is run by Marisa Corcoran and is usually staffed by senior teachers and administrators.  This year the staff included Mr. Forney, Mrs. Olson, MR. Costello, Mr. Howard, Mr. McGlaun and Sr. Judy stopped by for a portion of the day.

Mrs. Corcoran says that the senior retreat is a great way for the graduating class to say their goodbyes, as they move onto the next adventure.

“The retreat is a chance to pray, say goodbyes, and reflect on previous experiences.”

Throughout the day seniors will play games, speak about classmates, pray, and write letters.

The seniors have the option of writing letters to people that have had a positive impact on his or her life.

Justin Waldera, a graduating senior, wrote to both of his parents. While another senior, Natalie Smith, said she wrote to a friend that helped her through high school, but did not send it.

“The atmosphere was great at it was great chance to say goodbye.” said Nick Beranek a graduating senior.

“This is the last time all you guys could be together.” said Corcoran.
