Bogota or bust
Two seniors will be embarking on a trip to Colombia this summer. Justin Waldera (left) and Patrick Michener will be going traveling to visit some Cotter friends.
” I decided to go about halfway through junior year,” Waldera said. Waldera has never been on an airplane before and is really excited about it.
They will be flying into Bogata, the capital, and visting the cities of Bucaramanga, Medellin, and Tunja.
Waldera added that he is not to worried about the launguage barrier.
“They can conjugate verbs, use present tense, have a good vocabulary, so they will do fantastic,” Cotter Spanish teach Brook Hansen said.
Cotter has one student, Daniel Cardenas, who grew up in Colombia, but now lives with his uncle in Rollingstone. There have been 7 exchange students in the past two years who each have spent a semester at Cotter and Michener and Waldera will have a chance to catch up with these students on the trip.
