The Three Rivers conference may be feeling some new heat when spring rolls around courtesy of Danier Wuxihong.

Danier is 17 year old junior who is originally  from China. Danier has always been interested in sports and played baseball, tennis, volleyball, and was a swimmer while in China.

One reason Danier came to America was to play the game he loves: baseball. Danier is a hard throwing pitcher who is excited for the baseball season and has been preparing by working out in the fitness center every day and throwing a lot.

He may fit in well on a team that has lost several of its strongest pitchers from a conference championship team last year.

This is Danier’s third year in America, he attended high school in Wisconsin for two years.  Danier’s favorite accomplishment is making first team all conference at Wayland Academy, in Beaver Dam, Wisc.  last year.

Outside of sports Danier wants to get a better understanding of the world out of school.   Danier likes it how American schools promote freedom of speech, critical thinking, and that people come from different backgrounds.

Danier’s parents work in the Chinese education department. His favorite childhood memory is when his coaches woke up his whole team at 2 a.m. during a international tournament. The coaches heard that the team was bad mouthing them and punished them.

He doesn’t expect the same treatment from the Cotter coaching staff.
