CYO Campout Moves to Dorms
The Cotter Youth Organization’s overnight campout was a success, and the participants had a memorable time. Due to inclement weather the camping portion of the event was moved indoors and kids slept in sleeping bags in the dorm lounge.
The group is modeled on the old CYO (Catholic Youth Organization) and brings together students for shared activities.
Senior David Moon had this to say of the October campout.”I thought it was a successful turnout. We grilled hot dogs, made some smores, played capture the flag, and went to the gym to play dodge ball. We also watched a movie before we went to bed, and I really thought that this was a good experience for the students.”
Mr. Donlin and IRC staffers ran the program, with Mr. Donlin staying overnight in the dorm as part of the activity.
Moon added, “We will be planning some sort of winter outdoor activity such as sleigh riding, skating, and more for January. December is our recruiting month, so all are welcomed to join.”
