Baseball charges towards playoffs
The baseball team is making a late season surge, having moved into a first place before dropping a 2-1 decision in 8 innings at Caledonia on Thursday, May 19.
There are a number of factors contributing to the team’s recent success.
“We have been pitching well, we have been running the bases aggressively, and we play good defense,” Coach Nick Whaley said.
A team tradition is receiving a pregame motivational speech and prayer led by assistant Coach Don Freeman.
“We are a really tight knit group, we like to mess around, but sometimes that hurts us, so we trying to stay focused and it just makes baseball all that much more fun,” senior pitcher Hunter Andre said.
The team hopes to peak for the playoffs which begin next week.
