Shawn Fury: jumpshots, gym rats and playground legends

Charlie Reilly interviews New York author Shawn Fury at the Blue Heron on April 13.  Fury spoke about his new book Rise and Fire: The Origins, Science, and Evolution of the Jump Shot –And How It Transformed Basketball Forever.  After introductory remarks by his uncle, local author and hoops aficionado, Emilio DeGrazia,  Mr. Fury led a wide ranging  roundtable discussion on his book, the development and progression of the jump shot and how it has shaped the sport.

Later that night the Golden State Warriors won their record setting 73rd regular season game with Steph Curry breaking his own record for 3 pointers in a season, and Kobe Bryant scored 60 points on 50 shots in his farewell game.
