Renovations at The Rec
The Cotter gym, also known as the John Nett Recreation Center, is in the midst of a significant overhaul. Over the past couple of months Cotter has been working on upgrading the Rec center. The gym floor has been replaced, and has been given a spiffy new paint job. The gym also has new, fully automatic bleachers, and new scoreboards. Also the chairs for the athletes have been changed from the traditional blue chairs to a new predominantly white chair. Construction of the new features is moving quickly. “It’s my understanding that the construction project will be completed by the middle of January,” Cotter athletic director Jenny Carpenter said. Perhaps most significantly for fans, bathrooms are being added to the first floor. These bathrooms are going to be much more convenient than the lower level ones during sporting events and school activities. “It will be very nice to have restrooms on the first floor for our fans and community members–that will be seen as a huge benefit,” said Mrs. Carpenter. These changes should give Cotter top class facilities for years to come.
