Ramblers rally to edge out Rushford-Peterson
Not even finals week could phase the Cotter Ramblers in their 47-44 victory over Rushford-Peterson.
“We fell behind 27-15 late in the first,” head coach Pat Bowlin said. “I’m proud of the way our girls rallied to win.”
Gabby Bowlin led the Ramblers (2-1, 4-2) with 15 points and 1 3-pointer. Jane Koll recorded a double-double, racking up 11 points and 10 rebounds. Cotter also got important board numbers from senior forwards Kirsten Weifenbach (6) and Mikala Nelton (8). Josie Huelskamp added 8 points.
Brianna Koop and Ashley Agrimson guided the Trojans (2-2, 3-3) offensively, scoring over 75% of their points (19, 15 respectively). Savannah Skalet also had 4 points.
The Ramblers start Christmas break on the road in a tournament hosted by Maple River High School in Mapleton, Minn. They take on Holy Family Catholic and former HVL opponent Byron this weekend.
