Need Irrigation? Say Cheese!
Noah “Cheese” Nachtigal and friends tear up Cotter’s baseball field… literally.
As part of the junior’s Eagle Scout project, the goal was to create an effective drainage system for the abundant spring rainfall.
“We had a great turnout. I was expecting 40 people to show up and ended up with 50. We all had a fun time and put a lot of work in,” said Nachtigal, who played right field for the Ramblers last year.
Baseball coach Nick Whaley was also in attendance, and noted Noah’s exceptional leadership.
“Noah did a great job of leading. He put in a lot of time, research, and effort into this project, and it’s reflective of his work on the athletic fields as well as the classroom.”
“As a former Eagle Scout, it’s difficult to just organize and not participate,” said football captain Alex Walechka. “I think Noah struggled with that, and that’s just part of his nature as a hard worker. If there’s work to be done, Noah is there to do it, and that’s a great attitude to have.”
In closing remarks, Noah wanted to ensure that “teamwork makes the dream work!” That quote was in full effect on the diamond, and is sure to lead to team success in spring.
