Baseball and Softball Sweep Conference Titles

With a 7-4 win over Lewiston-Altura for the baseball team, and a 12-0 win over La Crescent for the softball team, Cotter sports clinched two conference titles.

The 17-3 softball team (16-1 in Three Rivers play) clinched their  second conference championship in two years of participating in the Three Rivers Conference.  With a young team, this year’s softball squad was able to overcome adversity and continue the softball program’s long history of winning.

The baseball team has clinched it’s first conference title in the Three Rivers Conference, and its first since the 2007 season.  Led by a group of four seniors and other returning starters, the baseball team has made a statement to the Three Rivers.

The softball team has already played their first playoff game, and came out victorious, 12-0 over Lake City.  Second round of play will be on Wednesday night against St. Charles.  The baseball team’s first playoff game will be on Thursday against Grand Meadow-Leroy-Ostrander-Kingsland (GMLOK), at the Cotter fields.  First pitch is at 5:00.
