Cotter grad moving forward in Los Angeles art world

Recent Cotter alum, Nikita Budkov, has successfully transitioned into Los Angeles’ creative society.

Currently enrolled at the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Arts (LAAFA), Nikita has been taking a wide range of classes all based around improving valuable art skills. From anatomy to art history, Nikita enjoys all his courses.

“There is absolutely nothing I don’t like, all classes are equally my favorite,” Nikita said “and I’m taking my gen eds next year.”

“My art knowledge and skill has improved dramatically, in the past, my art was a result of intuition and feeling, now I am actually learning how to use particular rules and techniques, along with many hours of drawing practice.”

Although Nikita doesn’t have the free time right now to work on any personal projects, after the countless hours of homework are done, he is planning his next project.

Nikita is thankful that Cotter High School taught him English and that Mrs. Forney introduced him to LAAFA.

“I mostly still keep in touch with some of my friends, the Price family, Robert Rivers, and Jack Petry.”
