Andre Earns Shutout Win in Home Opener
It was a perfect night for baseball, and the perfect Cotter Ramblers could do no wrong.
The Ramblers kept their winning streak alive in a five inning, 10-0 victory over conference foe Saint Charles on Friday evening. Cotter moved to 3-0 overall and in Three Rivers play.
Junior Hunter Andre took the mound for the Ramblers. Andre pitched all five innings, allowing four hits and striking out six batters. He added 3 hits of his own, going 3-3 with two RBI. The Ramblers pounded out twelve hits.
Highlights included Matt Masyga’s gold glove fielding, the team scoring five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, a controversial call that was reversed, and Sam French’s double to end the game in the fifth inning by virtue of the 10 run rule.
“It was right in my wheelhouse,” said French, “I just turned on it and started running.”
The Ramblers will look to stay undefeated when they travel to Wabasha-Kellogg to take on the Falcons on Tuesday night.
