LOTT happening at Cotter
Midwest Music Fest performer LOTT is coming to Cotter as part of the Sounds Like School Program.
The performance is in the St. Cecilia Theater on Friday, February 27 at 7:00 PM. Part of Midwest Music Fest’s Sounds Like School program, LOTT and Jillian Rae will be performing alongside Cotter’s show choir and student, Victoria Sunah Shim. The ticket price is $10.
Leah Ottman, who goes by the stage name LOTT, is a third timer with Midwest Music Fest this year.
“I was first introduced to MWMF by playing with one of my other bands, We Are The Willows,” Ottman said “We’ve been playing down in Winona for years, so it’s been an honor to be included in the festival.”
This year, however, LOTT will be performing solo, and with other musicians in We Are The Willows and batteryboy.
Self described as “Classical experimental violin” and “bedroom music” Ottman music reflects a classical background while still bringing a more relaxed attitude of solitary experimentation, songwriting, and performing.
Ottman first picked up a violin at age six, and has been involved in orchestras, chamber groups, and quartets for her entire life. “I love performing, I feel very lucky that I get to do that on a frequent and regular basis in Minneapolis and so many other cities,” LOTT states. “I also love learning the ins and outs of the [music] industry- it’s constantly changing and I love evolving with it.”
Ottman is a solo artist, but also member of multiple bands including We Are The Willows, batteryboy, Better Bones, Cruel Love, the Northern Symphony Orchestra, and some other friend’s projects.
“I’m looking forward to meeting students and having the honor or performing with one of the students while I’m in Winona!”
