Four Seniors Selected for Dorian Festival

Very little beats the sound of a thousand voices in harmony, but being one of the thousand might just do the trick.

Cotter Choir students Molly Cororan Sanders, Zach Bailey, Julia Charron and Josh Forst have been  selected to participate in this year’s Dorian Choir Festival at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa on January 11-12th, 2015.

The two day choral festival is considered the largest mass choir festival of its kind in the country. The students spend two days rehearsing their music with approximately 1200-1400 other high school singers from Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, South Dakota and Illinois. The two day choir festival culminates to the Grand Concert on Monday, January 12th.

“It’s going to be exciting,” Baliey says, “It’s great for me to be a part of this one-of-a-kind experience. Dorian is the largest mass choir in the nation with over a thousand participants, so the thought of knowing that I’m a part of this elite group is incredibly humbling.”

Choir director Cathy Snyder will lead the group to Luther.
