Phonathon? More Like FUNathon!
Cotter’s Media Center put an old medium, the landline, to good use recently.
From October 21, to October 29, the phonathon raised about $31,400 from in donations from alumni and friends in two weeks of calling.
“This year’s Phonathon was really a great one.” program leader Judy Richter said. “We didn’t reach our goal this year, but the kids really did a great job of talking to the people, getting to know them a little bit, instead of just asking for donations right away.”
“The phonathon was fun to work,” senior Mariya Swanson said. “You get to know so many people throughout the Cotter community and it’s a great way to get your community service done or to save for your senior trip.”
The top caller this year was Connor Hagarty, receiving pledges from 59 Cotter alum’s throughout the two week process. There was also a top pledge caller this year: Kaleb Pozanc. Kaleb collected $4,443 in total pledges during the fundraiser.
29 students and six staff members participated in calling former Ramblers this year.
“I thought the turnout of students willing to work was the best part about it this year. It’s great to see that the students care about Cotter and really want to help in any way possible.” Mrs. Richter said.
