Duck Dynasty: backwoods fun now streaming for free

Meet the Robertsons, just your average American family, well almost.

Duck Dynasty follows the Robertson’s, a wealthy Louisiana family who have made their fortune manufacturing the best duck hunting gear in the business.  The show follows them as they live their day to day life, filled with redneck humor, escapades and the joy of being part of one big, bearded family.

“I couldn’t help but laugh. The show is edited almost like a sitcom to draw out maximum humor, with cutaway interviews of cast members at just the right moments to reinforce their folksy philosophies,” said Curt Wagner, in a 2013 review of an episode in the Chicago Tribune.

Duck Dynasty started in 2012 and was immediately a smash hit. At one point, it was the most-watched nonfiction series in cable history and cranked out 54 episodes of backwoods laughs.

The Robertson men are brothers Phil and Si, and Phil’s sons Alan, Jase, Willie, and Jep, all are known for their long beards and their conservative, Evangelical Christian views.

The show earned $80 million in advertising sales for the first nine months of 2013, and merchandise has generated another $400 million in revenue. After 11 seasons, the series concluded on March 29, 2017, with the hour-long finale “End of an Era”.

One of the best characters in the show is the uncle of Willie and audience favorite is Silas Robertson. Known as the beaver whisperer, Si is a very popular character due to his unique personality, knowledge of backwoods living, and his determination to drive his family to confusion.

In high public recognition the show is for free on the mobile movie app Tubi that may be found in the app store. Other free options include Pluto tv, and A&E tv.  Premium subscription sites that carry the series include Hulu, Sling, and Discovery.

It is one of my all time favorite shows to watch with my family and I would recommend it to any who enjoy having a laugh about somewhat normal fun.
