Who is the best team in the NFL?
The trade deadline is over, and as we go into week 9, the Kansas City Chiefs are the best team in the NFL.
One thing is obvious when you look at this KC roster, they’re loaded. Not only do they have the league’s best quarterback, they also have the 3rd leading rusher in the NFL as well. Clyde Edwards-Helaire is one of the top rushers in the league, he is a rookie coming out of LSU.
The also have the league’s fastest wide receiver in Tyreek Hill, who is tied for first in the league for receiving touchdowns. To add fuel to the fire, they may have the best tight end in the league as well in Travis Kelce, as he leads all tight ends with 6 touchdowns so far this year.
Along with a lethal offense, the Chiefs pitch in a steady, top 10 defense that features stars like Tyrone Mathieau and company. They currently ranked 9th in yards allowed per game and 3rd in passing yards allowed.
They also have one of the best coaching staffs in the league with Andy Reid leading the charge and defensive mastermind Steve Spagnuolo calling the shots for the other side of the ball.
For the returning Superbowl champs, it hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows. They do have a bad loss to the subpar Las Vegas Raiders, which showed the country that they are human. The Raiders defense made Patrick Mahomes look like an average quarterback and LV QB Derek Carr embarrassed the Chiefs defense for 4 quarters. Since that game week 5, the Chiefs have outscored their opponents 104-42, as they have pounded anyone in their way since their lone defeat.
Many might take the Steelers as the top team in the league as they are the only undefeated team left in the NFL. The Steelers and Chiefs could very well meet up in the AFC championship this year as both teams have extreme talent on both sides of the ball.
The Chiefs do have a slight edge as they have one thing the Steelers don’t, that is star power. The Chiefs just have better players and more stars than the Steelers. Pittsburgh is a very good team made up of a lot of solid players, but they don’t have the same offensive weapons that the Chiefs have. That is why I picked the Chiefs over them this year.
As defending champs, the Kansas City Chiefs are expecting a Super Bowl win this year, and anything short of that would be a sheer disappointment.
