El Patron – New “nino” on the block
Opened around the beginning of Febuary, El Patron is establishing a decent business after having taken over the same space formerly occupied by Chula Vista.
Shooting for a “family oriented” feel and Mexican bar and grill El Patron’s hit a bulls eye. Having a menu ranging from a few American specialties to some cooking from the heart of Mexico, they do a good job of covering their bases and offering something everyone in your party will enjoy.
Compared to Chula, El Patron’s is at least equal in quality of food. Chula’s famous salsa will be missed, but El Patron’s salsa can take it’s place.
Although the main dining room is a little dark, it sets the mood for a nice date night. The dishes can range from $5.99 to $12.00 and regular dinner combinations starting at $7.50, and it’s safe to say that you will get your money’s worth.
So don’t be fooled by a sign that looks like Jimmy Fallon in disguise as a waiter, El Patron is serving good food at a reasonable price. Check it out.
