Student does not support Halloween

Fátima Mota made a sign on Halloween that garnered a lot of attention from students before it was mysteriously taken down from her locker. I asked her if she thought her sign was going to gather a lot of attention, she stated that,

“I did think some people would stop and read it. I believe the reason why the signs graved attention is because not many believe think the same way, especially when Halloween is a big party for the American people.”

“I was trying to promote that celebrating Hallowing is not by any means an innocent festivity. Halloween has pagan roots, and many of the things done in no ways resemble many of those pagan traditions.”

“I cannot say that I changed people’s minds, but I can definitely say that I got people thinking about their practices.”

The sign quoted Ephesians 5:11:   “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.”

“As a Catholic, I think Christians shouldn’t celebrate Halloween because it contains Pagan roots,” Mota said.
