Show Choir seniors spark special show
The Show Choir Concert, on April 29th, showcased all the of the group’s talent and hard work and was received enthusiastically by a vocal audience.
The concert had a wide variety of songs for all ages. Ranging from British pop to a country hoedown, there was something at the concert for any taste. It also featured many solos and duets, featuring the sassy lyrics of Ryan Ortega and Julia Charron, to the soulful tones of Hannah Spiten. The partners dance numbers were also popular with the crowd.
Two awards were handed out during this concert. One, the Director’s Award, was awarded to Patricia Ambros, a senior from Moldova in her first year at Cotter, for her hard work and dedication to the choir. Kelsey received the Show Choir award for her dedication, friendliness, and being a role model, which is an award voted upon by Show Choir senior class.
The seniors also had a special song prepared for Ms. Snyder, who they wanted to thank for all the work she put in throughout the year, and her dedication to unleashing her students’ full potential. The seniors sang a piece from Mamma Mia, called “Thank You for the Music,” which left Ms. Snyder in tears.
Timeless and the Divas had a stellar showing, with pieces like Hey There Delilah, featuring Zach Bailey on the guitar, and Falling Slowly from the musical Once. The Divas also performed The Cup Song from the movie Pitch Perfect, featuring Hannah Spiten and Molly Corcoran with their sick cup beat.Timeless also performed Uptown Girl, led by David Moon’s empowering tenor voice. The senior class led a strong showing by all.
There was a post concert reception in the theater atrium following the concert.
