Playoff win and home court advantage highlight volleyball season

The Cotter volleyball team had a strong season at home, winning nine of the ten matches played in the John Nett Recreation Center, Gym.

One of these victories was a first round playoff match  against Chatfeild on Thursday October 25.  Chatfield’s overall record entered the match with a 7-23 record, while Cotter was 13-13.  Cotter won three straight games to seal the victory.

Three key returning players are #9 Isabel Northrop an outside hitter, #4 Allie Picha a defensive specialist, and #15 Natalie Marg a middle blocker.

“We are winning some and losing some but we are trying our best.” Marg said.

“One of the attributes that is helping our team the most is our team chemistry. We really seem to work well together,” Isael Northrup said.

One explanation for the strong performance at home is the student section which has a different dress up theme for each game.  Some of the  themes included color schemes, “white out”, Hawaiian night, Betty Crocker night, Red White and Blue, and Christmas.

Mrs. Broghammer, the head coach of the volleyball team, has lbroght the team to a much more competitive level with the second straight year with a home playoff victory.

The Ramblers ended their season with a loss to St. Charles in 4 games at Rochester Civic Center on Saturday, October 27.
