Cotter student publishes an app
Cotter senior Nate Davis is making a play in the mobile stratosphere with an application known as “Color Dodge: Avocation for Avoidance.”
The app was launched on Google Play on April 24th and IOS on April 30th. Since its launching, Color Dodge has been downloaded nearly 600 times, though the numbers are expected to reach the thousands.
From a developing aspect, Davis spent roughly two weeks of developing version 1.0. “Programing is something I find very difficult. The design process is what I enjoy. That being said, it teaches you to solve problems, think on the most basic level, and the product you get at the end is always very rewarding,” Davis said.
Davis is planning attending a computer programming academy in New York or Chicago next year. From there he hopes to run his own start-up company or be a part of the digital revolution in anyway that he can.
Davis offers the following advice to an aspiring developer/tech enthusiast: “If you want to get into coding there is a place for everyone, no matter your skill level,” Davis added. “It can be very difficult in the eyes of a beginner, but it will put you ahead in a world where digital literacy is as important as reading and writing.”
