International talents on display at assembly
Cotter has talent and it was on display at the annual talent show.
Nathan Graff was awarded first place, Katie Speltz earned second and Hannah Graff and Grace Miller were 3rd place by the judges, but all the acts were impressive.
On Thursday of international week, Cotter held a talent show in St. Cecilia Theater. Students in Cotter took part in and show their various of talents on the talent show.
The eight acts are listed as follows:
Jerry She, Jerry Yang, and Tony Wan performed a rap to “Tiger Hill” by a Chinese artist. They projected the lyrics to the song in Chinese and English on the big screen as they performed.
Hope Howard sang”Think of Me” from Phantom of the Opera
Cindy Li – created her own dance to the song “Hong zhao yuan”
Nathan Graff – tap to “In Walked Bud” by Thelonious Monk
Katie Speltz – intrepretive jazz dance to the song “Rain Dance”
Hannah Graff and Grace Miller, the Wicked Sisters, did “Loathing” from Wicked
Harry Yao and Vivien Warner, piano and violin duet to “The Swan”
Daniel Wuxihong – played piano and sang in Italian to a classical love song
The Chinese rap performed by Jerry She, Jerry Yang and Tony Wan might be considered as the most “international” act in the show. The atmosphere was amazing and audience were shouting and clapping with passion during their performance. Actually, just like what audience thought, they have practiced and prepared a lot for the performance. Even till midnight, people could still hear the sound of their rap from their dorm room.
