Cotter senior Jake Kiese was selected to participate in the MSHSL all-state band and performed at the Mid-Winter Clinic on February 14 at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis.

Jake has excelled over the years in many aspects of the music program at Cotter and has earned many awards playing  in the woodwind  section. Jake plays both the clarinet and saxophone.

Jake has been involved with concert band, symphonic band, marching band, and field show since fifth grade. Along with the Cotter school band program Jake has been asked to participate in other bands around the community.

The all-state band is a group of students from Minnesota who audition for the ensemble each year.  The all-state band is selected by a committee of band directors from around the state and members selected to the band have gone through a rigorous audition process.
