Wine of the Bean, a new coffeehouse in Winona, MN, opened on October 1, where the well-known Blooming Grounds used to be located in the Winona Mall.

Wine of the Bean has a large menu, offering drip coffee, espresso, smoothies, teas, and specialty drinks including mochas, cappuccinos, lattes, frappes, and more . They also have a decent selection of food including bagels, sandwiches, wraps, soups, and pizza.

Although Wine of the Bean is in the same location as the former Blooming Grounds, they repainted the walls grey and white, set up a counter top, and installed new lights, which changed the atmosphere to a more sophisticated feel.

New lighting, tables, and counter update the coffeehouse’s look from its days as Blooming Grounds

It was obvious that Wine of the Bean is just getting started and still working out some kinks, but for only being open for a few weeks, the coffeehouse is looking great.

The owner, John Alexander, said his vision while starting the coffeehouse was “a relaxed coffeehouse with outdoor eating and many friendly faces for mall-goers in small town Winona.” Wine of the Bean will likely soon become exactly what Alexander envisions.
